Kurupt start his career as a recording artist with famous R&B and electro-funk groups S.O.S. Band and works three songs on the album One of Many Nights in 1991. The next year 1992, he signed with the famous record label Death Row Records. He joins as roster artists in Death Row including Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, and Lady of Rage.

He gains the attention of people by features on Dr. Dre’s debut solo album The Chronic. This time he features on many album songs with fellow rappers. He leave the Death Row record and signed with A&M Records. He released his first studio album Kuruption in 1998. After releasing his second album Tha Streetz Iz a Mutha, he left the Antra label.

A long time later, he return to Death Row Records in 2002. His fourth studio album Against the Grain was released under Death Row Records on 13 August 2005 and ranked number 60 on the Billboard 200.
